Colorful Trees

I stopped along the Hammond River Road around noon and took these pictures. I was thankful the wind and rain Sunday and Monday hadn't stripped the trees bare.

Noon is not the best time to take pictures and some say the subject should not be in the center of the frame. Oh well, sorry but I don't always follow the rules. Sorry Mrs Rule of Thirds.

LOL!! You follow the rules without even knowing it. In many of the shots the sky is a third the ground is a third, even if the dang tree is centered...heaven forbid!! LOL! But then that tall tree....look where the base is...if you cut the thirds vertically you'll see it is in the first third. You TRY to break the rules but I always find how they creep in. That's my job.

Great colours. I'd love to see number two done in a montage. Or slightly over saturated.

I think I'm catching a cold. Lord help me if I don't get out to shoot that darn boat this weekend. At least I'll have two chances at it but I REALLY want to go this weekend!!!!!!!

Hi Mrs. Rule;

Thanks for ruining my brief attempt at rebellion and rule breaking. I guess my unconscious is way ahead of my consciousness in spite of myself. I am not consciously being obsessive about dividing every picture into thirds. I frame it until what I see in the viewfinder suits me and click. Using a tripod makes it much easier to return home with a camera full of keepers too, especially with landscape shots. I shoot what pleases me and seldom worry about what others will think. Guess you can say it is the perfect hobby, eh?

I guess I could have let you revel in your glory for a little while, but Baby Thirds had me up a little early today. :)

Best way to take pictures is of what you like and if someone else likes them, then great, if they don't, then they are obviously wrong. Well, that's my theory anyway. Keep snapping. I enjoy checking your blog daily.
