Artistic Attempt
I stopped along the road near Cambridge Narrows last week in order to practice some panning shots. This is the effect I am looking for. The problem with this picture is my lens at 24 mm was not wide enough to include the tops of the trees. I could not go any further back or I would include the edge of the road. I will take this photo again with a wider angle lens next time I am by there.

What I like about this picture is your thought process...and your need for a better picture.
Actually, I like this picture just the way it is.
The fact that the tops of the trees are missing doesn't take anything away from the picture ...at least for me. Barb
It is growing on me. A bit more at the bottom for sure though.
