Soaking Wet

Anxious to get a few pictures this morning I stopped along Hammond River Road to snap these few pictures. No sooner had I secured my camera on the tripod when the heavens opened up. Here I was huddled under my umbrella trying to protect my camera from the rain that kept coming down harder and harder. Unable to do anything but stand there I snapped these pictures, the last one at ISO 1600 in order to get a high enough shutter speed to compensate for the poppy's movement in the wind. I looked a bit like the poppies when I was done but my camera gear remained dry. You should have seen the looks I got from the passing motorists.

By the Tracks

I drive over the railway bridge by The Junction a couple of times a day. I have always wanted to climb down the bank and take a few pictures. I finally had a chance to do that today. I quickly discovered I am not 18 anymore and I really hate mosquitoes. What caught my eye as I drove past was the clouds and blue sky. I thought that would make a good background for the two dead trees on the bank. It took less than three minutes for the clouds and blue sky to disappear but since I was there I snapped these pictures.

Lupines and Clouds

Last Wednesday, June 21st, I went looking for Lupine pictures with clouds. I found these lupines along the highway in Bloomfield and Hampton. It was difficult to get pictures without guardrails and streetlights but I managed a couple.

Wet Flowers

With the terrible weather we have been experiencing these past two months I either take pictures in the rain or not at all. On the way home from my morning coffee run today I decided to stop at Meenan's Cove and see what I could photograph without getting too wet. These pictures are okay but just think how much better I could do if I had a Sigma 150 mm F2.8 macro lens. It's on my Santa wish list.

Harbour Tour

Rita and I took a little tour around some of the harbours in Southern New Brunswick. We visited Chance Harbour, Blacks Harbour, Beaver Harbour and a few other out-of-the-way places. Nothing special here just me having fun recording the beauty that so many take for granted, or worse yet don't even see.

Saint John Today

Not much going on today in the foggy city. Stopped at Fort Howe and squeezed off a few pictures around noon. I can't get over how young the drivers are getting these days.

River Bend - Frances Robertson Memorial

On April 28th Bob, Gary, and I went to the Norton area looking for photos. I took these pictures in River Bend. I was amazed at the number of young children buried there in the late 1870's.

Quispamsis Sunset

Here are some sunset pictures I took last night from Butch's deck.
